Expanded Services - HIV/AIDS Care Program

HIV/AIDS Care ProgramThe human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection is an infection that gradually destroys the immune system and progresses to acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS). HIV is primarily spread from an infected person to another during sexual activity, needle sharing, and transmission between a mother and baby during or after pregnancy. For the vast majority of people, HIV results in AIDS. AIDS is the final stage of HIV and results in death. There are medications that can help people live longer and with a better quality of life than ever before. You can help stop the spread of HIV by being tested and preventing the spread of HIV to others or by taking precautions to prevent being infected with HIV.

White River Rural Health Center provides confidential HIV/AIDS testing, information, and counseling for people of all ages. We offer affordable comprehensive services to people with HIV or AIDS. These services are provided through family-centered, community-based medical care and support programs. Our compassionate, professionally-trained staff is here to provide you with information and support. Further, White River Rural Health Center is committed to HIV/AIDS community awareness by participating in outreach activities, such as education seminars and health fairs.
