Emergency Preparedness
In Arkansas' outlying areas, even a small number of seriously wounded people can qualify as a mass casualty. For this reason, White River Rural Health Center works closely with both local and state officials to coordinate emergency preparedness plans. Events can range from bioterrorism to natural disasters and industrial accidents. Due to the geographical regions we service, hospitals may be up to an hour away under ideal circumstances. Our goal is to have our clinics work seamlessly with the local emergency departments and first responders. In the event of an emergency, our staff is prepared to provide a necessary resource to help manage the emergency and still provide routine healthcare for the populations we serve.

Literacy & Education Programs
White River Rural Health Center believes that education is the key for individual and community growth. We believe that educational growth makes an individual stronger, and stronger individuals contribute to the expansion and development of businesses and communities. The White River Rural Health Center Education Program is focused on helping the residents of Arkansas experience positive educational growth. The White River Rural Health Center Education Program is a recognized leader in promoting a collaborative effort with local established groups, schools, civic and government leaders to promote reading.
The White River Rural Health Center Education Program works cooperatively with Augusta Schools and the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville in a pilot program called the Arkansas Delta Oral History Project. The program matches students with community mentors at the university level to promote understanding and literacy growth.
The White River Rural Health Center Education Program also works collaboratively with the Woodruff County Library, Woodruff County Literacy Council, and other civic groups and leaders to assist residents of Woodruff County with educational needs, scholarships and literacy issues.

Outreach
White River Rural Health Center’s Outreach Services are designed to improve the health of all in our Arkansas communities. Our outreach service providers look forward to seeing you at our events.
At White River Rural Health Center, we believe in giving back to the communities that support us in any way that we can. In fact, White River Rural Health Center, has an economic impact to Arkansas’ communities of over $60 Million per year in economic turnaround. We support our local businesses by purchasing local whenever we can. White River Rural Health Center has assisted local business to stock items that we utilize on a regular basis. In turn, local businesses are empowered to work with our owners and us to ensure that we have the best continuous supply of goods. White River Rural Health Center believes in creating a family of suppliers that are in business with us to succeed. When we succeed, our communities succeed!
Every year, White River Rural Health Center focuses on a specific community in our service area to spread financial well-being. We are presently in our second year of the Community Improvement Initiative and are in the planning phase for our third community of impact. Our owners are dedicated to this outreach in the communities in which they live. They are committed to promoting and creating the same “family” that we create with our suppliers.
Last year, White River Rural Health Center added a new owner, whose specific duties are to promote our community impact and work with community leaders, business owners and representatives, government officials, and others to assist our communities and promote White River Rural Health Center Cares for our Communities.
White River Rural Health serves all of rural Arkansas with locations in Augusta, Heber Springs, Jonesboro, Lake City, Parkin, Wynne, Batesville, Newport, Swifton, Carlisle, England, Brinkley, Des Arc, Hazen, Bald Knob, Kensett, Cotton Plant, McCrory.
